Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and Your Account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it current, and you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@sckian.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

2. The Service and Its Limits

Sckian matches you to job listings based on your profile and, on request, generates a tailored resume and cover letter for a specific job as an ATS-ready PDF. One application credit covers one resume plus one cover letter for one job.

We do not guarantee that you will receive interviews, offers, or employment, and we make no representation about how any employer or applicant tracking system will treat your documents.

AI-generated content can contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and editing every generated document before you send or submit it.

3. Credits, Subscriptions, and Auto-Renewal

Plans differ in price, monthly credits, and daily match supply:

• Free ($0): includes 3 lifetime application credits and a few job matches per day. Free credits are never refilled.
• Starter ($19 per month): includes 100 application credits per month and 5x the free plan's daily job matches.
• Pro ($49 per month): includes 400 application credits per month and 10x the free plan's daily job matches.

Free matches also exclude roles paying $100k or more, new postings from the previous 72 hours, and full-remote roles. Those are reserved for subscribers.

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed through Stripe that renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Application credits are set on each successful invoice and do not roll over; unused credits expire at the end of the period. Match limits reset daily.

We may change plan features, quotas, or prices. If we change the price of your subscription, we will give you reasonable advance notice before the change takes effect, and you may cancel before it applies.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel at any time through the billing portal linked in your account. Cancellation stops future renewals; your access and remaining credits continue until the end of the period you have already paid for.

If we cannot generate the documents for an application, that application credit is returned to your account. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to submit false or misleading information to employers, to impersonate another person, to upload content you do not have the right to use, to reverse-engineer or resell the Service, to scrape or bulk-extract our data, to interfere with or overload the Service, or to violate any applicable law. You must have the right to submit any resume, personal data, or other content you upload, and you must not upload another person's data without their permission. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

6. Your Content and Generated Documents

You keep all rights you hold in the resume, profile data, and other content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to process Your Content to operate the Service, including sending it to our service providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

Subject to your payment of applicable fees and your compliance with these Terms, you own the resume and cover letter documents generated for you, and you may use them for your personal job-search purposes. We retain all rights in the Service itself, including its software, models, templates, and design.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is capped at the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50. Nothing in this section limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law of your country of residence.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, including deleting your account, if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate your account for a reason other than your breach, we will refund any prepaid fees covering a period after termination. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law — will survive.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by French law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and nothing in them deprives you of the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the Service before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
